New field for young residents of Kryvyi Rih: modern field with artificial cover built at school No.1-20 in partnership with GIZ

Pub Date:April 18, 2019

The cooperation between Kryvyi Rih and German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) began in 2016 when mayor Yurii Vilkul signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the German company. Under this agreement, projects for major repairs of 4 schools and 2 higher educational establishments have been implemented. The works at educational complex No.58, school No.76, and school No.1-20 have been finished, and the repairment of school 115 is currently at the final stage.
Thanks to the partnership with GIZ, the city received brand new insulated buildings, refurbished dining, sports and assembly halls. Priority is given to energy saving measures and children safety.
A true present for students of the school No.1-20 was the construction of a new, modern field with artificial cover. The completion of the works was inspected by mayor Yurii Vilkul. He noted: "We work in several directions with our German partners - GIZ and the Consul General of Germany in Ukraine Wolfgang Mssinger. An essential line of activity is the implementation of large educational projects. Together we improve the studying conditions of Kryvyi Rih youth, create great opportunities for education and development of our children".
"The field with artificial cover will be open on May 1. I am convinced that this will be very beneficial for the children since it includes both a football field and a basketball field. We will also improve the state of the school grounds. This school has more than 900 students, and we do our best to make them feel comfortable", - summed up the mayor.
