A round table "Transformation of mono-cities and industrial territories" was held in Kryvyi Rih. One of the panel discussions was devoted to expanding partnerships between European regions. Secretary General of the Assembly of European Regions (AER) Christian Spahr took part in the discussion, along with the Deputy Mayor of Kryvyi Rih Serhii Miliutin, the leadership of Pokrovsk (Donetsk region), Zelenodolsk (Dnipropetrovsk region), and representatives of Pavlograd, Ternivka and Pershotravensk.

The discussion involved the impact of industrial development on the environment and the humanitarian sphere of the territories.

Christian Spahr, the Secretary General of the Assembly of European Regions, said: I can say that we have some experience working with the eastern regions of the country, and with Kryvyi Rih in particular. I have high hopes for our future fruitful cooperation. That is why I and MEP Lukas Mandl are happy to take part in this round table today."

Serhii Militin, Deputy Mayor of Kryvyi Rih, said: One of the main tasks of the Assembly of European Regions is to exchange experiences between the regions of Europe. Today, the AER representatives are present at the round table, because a powerful strategy for the transformation of mono-cities has been developed and is being implemented in Kryvyi Rih. In particular, economics, humanitarian sphere, ecology, support of small and medium business, etc. These issues concern not only Kryvyi Rih and other industrial centers of Ukraine, but also European cities. We share our experience, the best developments made in the joint program of Vilkul and Pavlov. It is very important that representatives of the European Parliament, the AER and Ukrainian cities took part in the discussion. "

The round table "Transformation of mono-cities and industrial territories" was attended by the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany Tanja Beyer, Secretary General of the Assembly of European Regions Christian Spahr, MEP and Member of the International Committee of the European Parliament Lukas Mandel, Director of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Kyiv Benjamin Bobbe, Vice President of the Construction Support Fund Toralf Weise, experts and specialists, representatives of the executive committee of Kryvyi Rih City Council.

During the round table, the head of the Public Council under the Executive Committee of Kryvyi Rih City Council Oleksandr Vilkul presented the Development Strategy of Kryvyi Rih. Benjamin Bobbe, Project Manager of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine, praised the strategy presented by Mr. Vilkul.
