On July 30, as part of the effort to develop international relations, at the invitation of the Chinese side, the delegation of Kryvyi Rih took part in an international conference organized by the municipality of Dongguan (China). In addition to Ukraine, represented by Kryvyi Rih, the event was attended by representatives from Germany, Israel, Serbia, Portugal and Brazil.

Dongguan Deputy Mayor Luo Huanghao stressed the importance of direct dialogue between cities for the development of economic and cultural ties. He noted that Dongguan is open to establishing partnerships, in particular with Kryvyi Rih.

Dongguan is one of China's most powerful industrial centers with a population of nearly 8.5 million residents. The city is home to the headquarters and plants of such companies as Samsung Electronics, BBK-electronics, Vivo, DuPont, LyondellBasell Industries, Coca-Cola, Nestle, Maersk, Huawei and others.

Deputy Mayor of Kryvyi Rih Serhiy Milyutin gave a speech at the conference, in which he told the audience about the strategic directions of the city's development. He said: Our job is to attract investment, new ideas and technologies to create a modern competitive economy of the city, increase salaries of Kryvyi Rih residents and living standards. I am grateful to our Chinese partners for the dialogue, which has been made more active at the international level."

Mr. Milutin noted that "Kryvyi Rih is one of the world's industrial leaders and a powerful training and research center. Kryvyi Rih also has one of the best credit ratings in the country - at the sovereign level. This gives us additional opportunities to attract funding, in particular for the development of urban infrastructure. So, we have many possibilities for joint projects. "

The Deputy Mayor thanked the Consul General of Ukraine in China Dmytro Kamkov for strengthening bilateral relations between the cities of Ukraine and China and stressed that Kryvyi Rih is open to continuing the dialogue on strategic partnership and possibly establishing sister city relations between the cities of Kryvyi Rih and Dongguan.

Oksana Pavlushenko, acting head of the Economic Department of the Executive Committee of Kryvyi Rih City Council, said: We have a number of investment proposals. There is a list of potentially attractive facilities and industrial areas of interest to investors."

Kryvyi Rih is actively developing and cooperating with various international institutions, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Hans Seidel Foundation and others.

It should be noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ukraine and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a strategic partnership between China and Ukraine. The city of Dongguan (China) and Kryvyi Rih (Ukraine) began to actively develop friendly relations this year.
